Completing a module is an essential step to completing a journey and earning a certificate. Below are the steps on how to complete a module:
1. Navigate to the Certificates tab.
- Click on the Certificates tab in the navigation bar either at the top of your screen (on desktop) or the bottom of your screen (on mobile).
2. Pick a Certificate to start with.
- A Certificate is a collection of several modules (there are usually about 6 - 10 modules per Certificate. To complete the Certificate you usually only have to do a small number of modules).
- In cases when a specific certificate has been pre-assigned to you, you can start with the modules in that certificate.
- In the sample below, the assigned certificate is Making Good Choices and it consists of 10 modules.
- You know it is assigned, because of the blue "Assigned" button.
3. Choose a Module that interests you.
- Click on the module card. You will see that a module is divided into 4 tabs: Overview, Connect, Grow, Apply. (Each of these will be explained in more detail below)
- The Overview contains a brief explanation of what the whole module is about, why one needs to explore the topics in the module and the goals of the module. Some modules may also have an audio recording that briefly talks about the module.
- In the example, we went with the Going Beyond Trauma module.
4. Connect to Stories.
- In the Connect tab, you'll find Stories shared by people in your group related to the module's topic.
- Click on any story card that you want to read and connect to the author by leaving an emoji or a comment (if commenting is available).
- The 2 bars above the story cards represent how many 'connects' you need to do to complete the module. In the sample below, there are 2 but it can be more than that.
5. Complete Grows.
- When you switch to the Grow tab, you will find a set of 4 or more Grows. The bars at the top represent the minimum number of grows you need to complete.
- Each grow talks about a certain skill, knowledge, or a more specific topic related to your chosen module. Pick the ones that you think would be most significant for you.
- To complete a grow: Read through the content, watch the videos, explore the attached resources, and answer the questions at the very bottom.
Don’t sweat it if you get some questions wrong. You can keep trying if needed until you complete the activity ;)
6. Publish a Story.
- The final step to completing a module is to publish a story based on the module's Story Criteria.
- Go to the Apply tab. Review the Module Goal and Story Criteria.
- Start writing your Story. While there's no strict word count, aim for at least one paragraph (about 4 sentences).
- Once you are happy with your Story, click on Preview to submit. (clicking on Save will only save your story as a draft).
- Review your story and make sure it meets the criteria and module goal. Also, check the 2 boxes when you are ready to submit. But if you feel that some changes are needed, click on Revise Story instead.
- Choose 1 from the 3 visibility options. This will determine who will be able to read your story once it has been approved.
- Click on Submit for Feedback.
- Once your story is submitted, our review team will provide feedback within 24-48 hours and will either "Accept" or "Return" it depending if it meets the Story Criteria.
- You will receive an app notification once your story has been reviewed. You may also refer to this article on: How do I know if my Story has been reviewed?
7. Congratulations on completing a module!
- Once all Connect/Grow/Apply requirements are reached, the module will automatically be marked with a yellow checkmark which indicates that you have successfully completed the module.
Note that there is no limit to the number of modules that you can do so feel free to explore and complete as many modules as you wish. ;)
