The Read Aloud feature lets you listen to content instead of reading it. You can also translate content into different languages and adjust how it’s read.
How to turn on Read Aloud
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
Toggle Read Aloud ON.
Once enabled, playback controls will appear on supported pages.
Where does Read Aloud work?
Read Aloud is currently available mainly inside Modules.
It can read:
- Module Overview
- Module Goals
- Story Criteria
- Stories
- Grow content
It does not work inside activities.
👉 When available, the controls appear on the right side of the screen.
How to use the controls
When Read Aloud is active, you can:
- ▶️ Play or pause content
- ⏭️ Move between sections
- ⚙️ Open settings
Customize your experience
You can adjust how content is read using the settings panel:
🌐 Language (Translation)
- Translate content into another language and have it read aloud
- Supported languages include:
- English (US), Spanish, Arabic, Filipino, Italian, Korean
- Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Chinese
🗣️ Voice
- Choose a voice from the dropdown (options vary by language)
⏩ Speed
- Adjust how fast the content is read (e.g. 1x is normal)
🔊 Volume
- Control playback volume directly in the panel
📖 Follow Along
- Highlights text as it is being read
How to turn it off
- Click Disable Read Aloud in the settings panel,
or - Toggle it off from the profile menu.
Important
- Read Aloud is not available on all pages
- It works best within Modules
- Interactive content (like activities) is not supported
