When necessary, group leaders may transfer a member, along with the progress that the member earned, from one group to another.
(This feature is not automatically turned on for all groups but may be enabled upon request to support.)
Which member data are being transferred upon transfer of the member?
- Completed and partially-completed Certificates
- Reactions to stories (if the same story exists in the new group)
- Completed and partially completed Grows and Modules
- Stories (pending review, published, returned)
- Growth Plans / Transition Plans
(Note: If there are assigned journeys in the previous group, they will have to be reassigned in the new group as those are not automatically transferred.)
How to transfer a member from an active group:

Access the Champion Dashboard.
- On the People tab, look for the member you wish to transfer. (can search by name, reference ID, or system ID)
- Make sure you are searching in the correct group(s) by selecting all groups or specific groups on the top filter.
- When you find the name of the member you are transferring, scroll to the right and click on the three-dot button. Click on Edit.
- On the People Management window, click on Group Details tab.
- It will show you the list of groups where the member is currently active (Active Groups), and groups where the member has been archived (Archived Groups).
- It will show you the list of groups where the member is currently active (Active Groups), and groups where the member has been archived (Archived Groups).
- Scroll to the bottom of that window to see the link, "Transfer Member's Group Progress". Click on the link.
- (Note: if the link is not shown, it means that the feature has not been enabled for your groups yet. Contact our support team to have it turned on for your group.)

- Select "Source Group" from the first dropdown.
- Important: The member and all his earned progress in this group will be deleted upon transfer.
- Not all active groups will be available on the Source Group dropdown. Only groups where the transfer feature has been enabled.
- Select the target group from the second dropdown.
- The member and all earned progress from the previous group will be moved to this group.
- The dropdown will only show groups that share the same library with the source group.
- If the member can be transferred to the selected target group, a caution in blue text will appear and the Transfer button below will be clickable.
- Click on the Transfer Member's Group Progress button to proceed.
- A success message will appear confirming that the transfer went through.
- Click on the Transfer Member's Group Progress button to proceed.
- If the member cannot be transferred to the selected target group, there will be an error message in yellow box.
- The system automatically recognizes if transfer to the selected target group is not possible.
- One common reason for this is when the member is currently archived in the target group and has existing data in it.
- If you need to proceed with the transfer, click on the support link in the error message to send the request to us and we will be the one to process it.
Transferring a member from an archived group to an active group:
Important:
- If a member is archived in a group, the profile of the member is hidden but all earned credits or previous progress are not deleted and are restored once the member has been unarchived.
- To be able to transfer those earned progress from the archived group to an active group, you need to first UNARCHIVE the member from the group before transferring.
- Do not ADD the member to the target group. This will not transfer the member's existing data from the old group to the new one.
Use the guide below:
- Access the Champion App and go to the People tab.
- On the group filters at the top of the page, click Select All to check all groups.
- Search for the member using either name, reference ID, or user ID. Check the box that says "Include Archived Members" to show groups where the member is archived.
- If there are multiple results of the same profile in different groups, it is best to choose the profile or group with the most progress on certs and published stories.
- Once decided on which member profile and group you are transferring from, scroll to the right, and click the three-dot edit button.
- On the People Management window, click on Group Details tab.

On the Archived Groups list, check the group you are unarchiving the member from.
- This group will move to the 'Active Groups' list and the member will show as active in the group.

- Proceed to transfer the member by clicking on the "Transfer Member's Group Progress" link found at the bottom of that window.
- On the source group dropdown, choose the one where you just unarchived the member from.
- On the target group dropdown, choose the one where you are moving the member to.
- Click on the Transfer Member's Group Progress button to complete the transfer.
