Sprout is Journey.do’s early-stage AI assistant, built to support Champions, staff, and coaches in managing users, reviewing activity, and generating case notes. While Sprout is still under development and not available to all accounts, it already provides helpful support tools for accounts with early access.
How to open Sprout from the Champion Dashboard:
- Log in to Journey.do and go to the Champion Dashboard.
From the User Table, navigate to the bottom-right corner of the screen, click the green plant icon (that is Sprout).
The Sprout chat panel will appear with several quick action buttons to help you get started.

What can Sprout do?
Sprout currently supports the following tasks:
- Create new users
- Search for existing users
- View and analyze submitted stories and story reviews
- Access and analyze Growth and Transition Plans
- Generate case notes using text, PDF, image, or audio inputs (if Notes is enabled)
🔧 How to use Sprout for common tasks
🌟 Create a New User
- Click the Sprout icon
- Select "Create New User" or type:
create a new user - Sprout will ask if it's going to be a Managed or Unmanaged User and then prompt you for user details.
- For Managed Users:

- Provide the necessary information based on the type of user. You may also provide the data for multiple users at a time or do a batch request as long as the details are complete and organized.
Sprout will confirm once the user(s) are created.
🔍 Search for a User
- Click the Sprout icon.
- Type a prompt like:
find Jane Doeorsearch for user with reference ID 12345 Sprout will return the user’s profile summary and group info.
📖 View and Analyze Stories and Submissions
- To see a learner’s stories, type in
show stories submitted by [Name, or - Search for the learner first and open the profile. Then, open Sprout and ask to
access and analyze the stories. Sprout will return with a list of all summarized stories, areas of concerns, and recommendations.
📋 Access and Analyze Plans
- Ask Sprout to view or analyze plans:
show transition plan for [Name]oranalyze growth plan for [Name] Sprout will return a copy and offer brief insights
📝 Generate Case Notes (If Notes is Enabled)
- Type:
create a case note for [Name] - Upload any files: PDFs, audio, or screenshots
Sprout reads the files and creates a summary or insight-based note. You can ask for changes or additional input
📌 Note: Case note generation is only available to customers with the Notes feature enabled. If your Sprout access doesn’t support this, it will skip this option.
