To protect original work and uphold integrity, we've added a Plagiarism Detector that compares new story submissions against previously published stories from across the same community.
Where to find it:
Go to the Champion Dashboard > Stories tab
Open the story you'd like to review.
On the right panel of the review page, you will see an alert in either Red, Orange or Green box. The result may be any of the following:
✅ Plagiarism Scan: No Matches Found
If no overlap is found with any other story in the system, you’ll see a green confirmation.
Example:
“This submission was compared against 7,574 stories and no significant plagiarism was detected.”
⚠️ Plagiarism Scan: Match Found
If content matches another story by at least 50%, you'll see a red panel alerting you of High Risk overlap.
The matched story will be shown (title, author, group, module, and date)
You can view the full story that it was copied from
If it's copied from an NPC (Non-Player Characters) story, it will have an "NPC Story" tag.
⚠️ Plagiarism Scan: Moderate Risk
If a match is found but with less than 50% overlap, you’ll see an orange “Moderate Risk” panel.
This means that only a small portion of the submitted story has an overlap with someone else or with an NPC story.
⚠️ Important Notes:
Plagiarism is based on text similarity. Use context when reviewing results.
Minor overlaps may occur naturally or unintentionally—focus on larger sections that appear lifted.
In rare cases, the detector may miss partial copying if the copied content is too short relative to the full story.
