When members begin their Journey, an important first step to effectively set their goals and actions for the future is creating their Growth Plan.
Here's how to create a Growth Plan:

Access the Champion Dashboard. Click on the Plans tab on the left navigation menu.

- On the Champion app, make sure that you have the correct group selected on the group selector at the top of the page.
- On the Plans page, click Create New and choose Growth Plan from the available templates.
- Choose the member for whom you are creating the growth plan.
- You have two options to build the Growth Plan:
- Built-in AI Plan generator
- Manual

If an audio recording (.MP4A) or transcript (.VTT) of the intake interview is available, the growth plan can be automatically generated using our built-in AI system by uploading the audio or text file to the blue box.
Additionally, the Add Notes field can be used to supplement the uploaded files or serve as the primary content to produce the growth plan. Provide information such as the member’s strengths, challenges, goals, and influences, and experiences to make the most of the growth plan.
Tip: Using the Add Notes field, you may also ask for the growth plan to be customized according to the member’s needs; such as language preferences, specific subject matter to focus on, and as a means to incorporate data from assessments and other relevant documents.
Notes:
> Once the file upload is complete, it may take about 15 minutes (could be longer depending on the size of the file) for the AI to generate the growth plan. It is SAFE to leave the page during this time.
> Refresh the page after 15 minutes or so to see if the AI has finished generating the plan.
> Review the content to make sure that it is appropriate and aligned with what went on during the intake. Make changes if necessary.
> Once satisfied with the content, jump to Step 8.
- If no recording or transcript is available, choose "Create Plan from Scratch" and proceed to manually create the growth plan by following the steps below:
- Create a title for the Growth Plan and fill in the other sections.
- Assign Certificates: Select the certificates you want to include in the plan by checking off the boxes and then choose whether you want to make the cert required (Assigned) or just optional (Available). Strengths: Note the learner's strong points.

Challenges: Identify areas for improvement.

Goals and Activities: Set additional tasks (optional).
- On the Signatures section, the names and signatures of the people who need to be part of the plan can be added. (this is optional)
- If you need to send a copy of the plan to someone and obtain their signatures, refer to this article: How do I share a Plan with a guardian.
- If unable or does not need to obtain signatures, you may affix your initials on behalf of that person by checking the box for "I have permission to sign for this recipient".
- Choose to either Save Draft or Publish the plan:
- Save Draft: The plan is just in draft and will not assign the journeys to the member yet. Each time you make changes to the plan, but are not ready to finalize yet, make sure to click on Save Draft.
- Publish: Once the plan is final, click on Publish button. This makes the plan downloadable and visible on the member's profile. Only after publishing can you request signatures.
- If you want the learner to see the plan, check the option "Allow member to view published plan" before clicking on Publish.
